Information about Headway
Headway?
A lot of people wonder who we are and what we do.
Many have never heard of us before.
The National Organisation
Headway started more than twenty five years ago.
At that time there was no help available either for people who had suffered a head injury or for their families.
There are now many local groups, branches and Headway houses all over Britain.
They provide a quality information service for individuals and groups, whether you are a sufferer or an interested party.
Here to help
Any form of brain injury can be traumatic. Even a relatively minor injury can cause
major
changes to the way a person functions on a day-to-day basis.
Headway exists to help all those involved come to terms with the changes which can occur and to offer support and advice to the injured and those who hold them dear.
Fife Headway
Fife Headway is the local support group for those who have suffered a head injury whether by an accident or illness.
We are here for individuals who have suffered head injuries, their carers, friends and families.
Please note those who have suffered a head injury, their carers, family and friends or anyone interested will be made welcome at our local branch meetings. We provide transport to and from our meetings suitable for all disabilities so please get in touch with us if you require this service.
Local Groups
We run two support groups, one in Kirkcaldy and one in Dunfermline.
With both groups it is best to check one of the contact numbers, especially if you are a member who doesn't regularly attend and is perhaps not now receiving a reminder for our meetings, or if you are a new person thinking of giving us a visit for the first time. Or keep an eye on this site for all the up-to-date news and information!
Details of where we hold our group meetings can be found in the menu under “About Us…”
